Shimano Ultegra XTD Spod Reel
The Ultegra XTD Spod is a new big pit reel, specially designed for spodding / marker work.
It is based on the successful Ultegra XTD 14000 carp reel and has similar features, but the design
has been tweaked slightly to make it perfect for spodding.
A shallow spool offers less line capacity, which suits the thinner braid required for spodding
A higher gear reatio of 5,2:1 instead of the original 4.3:1 offers faster retrieving speed, with a
retrieve of 124 cm instead of 103cm per wind.
3 Line clips on spool to allow you to be clipped up to more than one spot at a time
without overbearing one line clip
Egg type Handleknob instead T-type offers more grip, which is important if your hands
are covered in spod mix!
